The challenge
Hospitality concepts are tested immediately by customers, cash flow and operational reality. A strong idea only becomes a viable business when location, offer, price, atmosphere, service, marketing, team and daily execution work together.
What I built
Over more than a decade, I repeatedly transformed hospitality ideas into operating businesses. The work covered concept development, financing, positioning, customer acquisition, team building, operating systems and expansion into further venues, events, delivery and public formats.
My role
• Concept creation and market positioning · Business planning, financing and P&L responsibility · Site development and opening management · Brand identity, communications and partnerships · Pricing, offer architecture and margin management · Recruitment, training and leadership · Supplier relationships and operating processes · Events, PR and community development · Expansion into additional venues and revenue formats
The build model
1. Identify an underserved audience, occasion or cultural opportunity. 2. Define the concept, customer experience, offer, pricing and commercial model. 3. Secure resources, develop the site and recruit the team. 4. Create demand through community, events, PR and partnerships. 5. Manage people, service, purchasing, margins, cash flow and performance. 6. Expand successful concepts through new locations, delivery, events and collaborations.
Results and proof
The businesses were developed as brands and communities rather than isolated physical locations. Events, partnerships, public activations, direct communication, delivery and alternative sales formats expanded both audience reach and revenue opportunities. • Six businesses and operating concepts · More than 80 employees · Swiss Nightlife Award for Raygrodski · Long-term commercial operation across changing market conditions. What this case demonstrates: Repeatable zero-to-one venture building.
